Recently, the Vanguard Benefits team had the honor of visiting the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center (HMTC) in Glen Cove, celebrated as the 2024 Rising Star Award recipient at the Long Island Imagine Awards. This prestigious accolade recognizes a nonprofit organization with revenues under $2 million for its outstanding innovation, impact, and achievements in advancing its mission.
Tommy DiMisa, Director of Strategic Alliances at Vanguard Benefits, expressed the team’s pride as the annual sponsor of the award: “We are thrilled to support such impactful organizations. HMTC’s dedication to educating the community about the Holocaust and promoting tolerance is truly inspiring.”
A particularly moving part of the visit was the Children’s Memorial Garden at HMTC. This poignant tribute features butterflies, symbolizing the 1.5 million Jewish children who were tragically murdered during the Holocaust. The butterflies serve as a powerful reminder of the resilience and beauty that can emerge from profound loss.
Ed Probst, President and Co-Founder of Vanguard Benefits, reflected on the experience: “Our visit to HMTC was both humbling and enlightening. It reinforced our commitment to supporting organizations that foster education, tolerance, and respect within our communities.”
The visit highlighted HMTC’s remarkable achievements and its essential role in promoting understanding and empathy. Vanguard Benefits is proud to stand with HMTC and support their mission to educate and inspire future generations.
