Every year, the Imagine Awards recognizes outstanding nonprofit organizations across Long Island, and one of the most anticipated honors is the Rising Star Award—an accolade celebrating the outstanding innovation, impact, and achievements in meeting its mission.

This year Vanguard Benefits will be nominating an organization who demonstrates an outstanding record of sustained achievement, successfully demonstrated successful financial performance, and has built a reputation for excellence within the community. Our very own Tommy DiMisa recently attended a Roadshow to meeting with some of the inspiring semifinalists in the 2025 campaign.

One of the standout visits was to CEED (Center for Environmental Education and Discovery)—a nonprofit dedicated to connect our community to nature and science with creative use of discovery, art and education. Tommy had the pleasure of sitting down with Executive Director Sally Wellinger, Volunteer Coordinator Audrey Collins, and Ranger Eric Powers to learn more about their mission and the incredible work they’re doing for environmental education.

As we continue to follow the journey of these Rising Star nominees, we’re reminded of the passion, dedication, and heart that drive Long Island’s nonprofit community forward.
